Automodified “midweek eyecandi” Photo shoot

6 January 2011 3 Comments

The boys here in Gauteng decided to host a photo shoot at Investment Cars in Bryanston,  just to raise the bar a little. We invited some guest photographers: Ian Genis from Lensworx, Elize Mare from ECM Photography, Christo Hoffmann from SLG Photography and our very own “Yours Truly” from automodified and “Yours Truly Photography”, who were accompanied by the gorgeous Trudie, Pamela, Anel, Cassandra, Claire and Sarah. Imagine all of this situated in, upon, and around a fantastic stable of supercars! The list include a range of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Porsches, an R8, a GTR and even a Dodge Viper. The stage was set.

My first encounter with Trudie was when I strolled past the blue Lambo to call her and Anel over to the Diablo for the first photos. She was having a slight challenge getting out of this low, 400+kw beast, because people her size normally drive Mini’s, or a Fiesta! What struck me the most was that her personality seemed to precede her out of the car. What a dream-model to work with…

About the shoot, Trudie said: “It was a great experience! It was my first location shoot and it’s quite different from studio shoots, but it was AWESOME!!! I had tons of fun!! Everybody was very professional and seeing that we were at Investment Cars on a working day, we were thankful for the accommodating attitude of all the employees and managers.”

Doing a photo shoot of a car is not an easy task. Doing a shoot of a personcan also be a challenge, so, imagine combining the two! Add to that background noise, focusing and camera settings, and it become a hard days work for any photographer. This is where the true talent and personality of a model of Trudies caliber comes in. Her personality and exquisite looks fills the floor.

Basic info on Trudie is simply the following: She is a very talented young model, she is 22 years old,and she lives in Centurion. To describe her is much more complex, and to do that in a short paragraph or two is virtually impossible – there is just too much to say!

To start off with: she is busy, very busy! And by that I don’t mean a full schedule, but rather that you sort of feel tired by just looking at her while she’s dancing, or when she’s with her friends at a party, or when she’s organizing things at work, or when she’s doing a photo-shoot, or… get the idea? The only time she will (sort of) slow down is when she sleeps, because for some people even that will be ‘busy’. You see, she sleeps with her HUGE Teddy, several other soft toys, her own cat, and often with two or more other cats who just cannot resist the good company.

Talking about good company – she has an extraordinary number of friends. Good friends, not just acquaintances; the type of people she will meet at least once a week at a club, or at a braai, or at a music evening at someone’s house…

In spite of all this action, there is a deeper, more serious side to Trudie which is only revealed when you get to know her a bit better. She is a no-nonsense girl – effective in her work, quick and efficient in organizing her own life (and sometimes that of other people), and definitely not a push-over . When you are her friend, she will get up at 2 o’clock in the morning to come and rescue one of her friends from an obnoxious, intoxicated boyfriend, and never ask for anything in return.

Don’t get on her wrong side though! She grew up with two brothers who taught her how to fend for herself quite effectively. Not your average, pin-up dolly – not at all!

About herself Trudie says: “I’ve been taking dancing lessons since I was a little girl. Ballet, Modern Dancing, Gymnastics, Aerobics and Hip-Hop. Currently I do Ballroom & Latin American and when we have shows it also contains Jazz and Contemporary. Keeping in shape and living as healthy as possible is very important to me.. It makes me feel comfortable. It puts me at ease and calms me down.”

She continues: “I have a very wild field of interest… and if not for the interest of things, definitely for people. I love experiencing new things, going to new places and meeting new people!! I love situations where I’m put with a group of people I have never met before and getting to know their stories. I like reading; Jodi Picoult is one of my favourite writers, but I also enjoy John Grisham or James Patterson books.”

And finally: “Going to the movies is one of my favourite pastimes… and when I have to, I can cook a great meal. I eat almost anything, except asparagus… Gross!!! I love Sushi, Pizza, Pasta, a steak or a salad.”

If you ever want to see the embodiment of an old saying: “Dynamite comes in small packages”, try to meet Trudie…. that’s if you can keep up to catch her!

The pictures, of course, speak for themselves…

“Yours Truly”
