Canal Walk Motor Show coverage

3 May 2011 No Comment

Canal Walk’s annual Motor Show took place from 27th April to 2 May. I decided to make a turn and wasn’t disappointed at all. Good Hope FM’s very own DJ Ready D was broadcasting live, from 7 to 10 on Wednesday 27th April, at the “Ridez and Vibez” Display. This took place on the outside of entrance 10 where Drift Squad had some of their rides on display with some mind-blowing supercharged engines and turbos. Also on display were some of Cape Town’s hottest show cars and LDV’s. Even though it was raining and freezing cold, this didn’t stop the peeps from having a sneak of the Cape Town’s custom rides.

On the inside of the shopping mall were dealerships and motorsport, new vehicle launches and luxury vehicles on display. On the lower level, Lupini Power cars had their Chevrolet SuperUte (only one in SA) on display while “Live to Race” had a Ford GT40, Lamborghini Murchielago, Lotus and a Porsche on display. My personal favourite was the Lamborghini Diablo and Countach. On the upper level stood a brand new V12 power horse, a Ferrari 599 GTO. This car had both men and women drooling including…me. Some other luxury marques included two Aston Martin DBS’s and a Bentley. The Sasol National Rally Racing Team had their Sasol S2000Ford Fiesta on display with Mark Cronje signing autographs. I must say that the show gets better each year and I simply can’t wait for next year’s one.

Until next time…God Bless!
