Cape Town Customs…Cape Town Style…

4 November 2010 10 Comments

Welcome to my page! My name is Joe Klein aka JK and I will be responsible to keep you petrol heads up to date with “Show and Shine” events happening in and around Cape Town. This is not an easy task to do and it is extremely challenging for me. My first visit to a “Show and Shine” event was back in 2006, hosted by “Tunerz”. Back then, I was more into car sound competitions but this particular show made me choose styling above anything else. Over the years, I have entered my car into many “Show and Shine” competitions. I met a number of people and today we are like one big family.

My main focus will be based on  “Show and Shine” events only ,but I will also do write ups on ‘sound off’ events as these two go hand in hand with one another. I will also focus on the “Cape Flats” events, the smaller shows. This is where you see cars that you normally do not see at the big “Show and Shine”-events. It is a real pity, that most of these “back yard builders” will give some of the custom cars at the bigger events a run for their money. I will share some interesting topics and tips on how to build a “showstopper” and what judges are looking for when they judge a car at an event. I will also load some pics of Cape Town’s “showstoppers” on this page, so do not be surprise when you see your car here…BE WARNED!

Things have been quiet over the past few months but hey, summer is here! Prepare yourself for the smell of D28, lavender flavour! If you have any information on any upcoming events, or club events, drop me a message. I will gladly share it with the rest of our AutoModified addicts. PLEASE NOTE: I do take comments and letters.

Until next week, keep it clean and spotless…God Bless!

JK

Hi guys.Totally Awesome site. Can anybody help me find a place that sells 20″ rims that will fit a Chev Cruze 2010.So tired of the standard ones, looks kind of tired on an “dydlike” looking automobile.I keep on getting the run around from guys like TWT.Seems they don’t know what fits.To tell u the truth i’m also not sure as to what the specs are for my car.Think it’s 105X5.
    Please Help

Hi JK i have a 2008 E90 4 door sedan that needs a little TLC! Minimal BUT may as well be “in for a penny – in for a Pound” 7 do a few mods to front end, fix bodywork scratches, paint work & carpet “bin” only. No interior damage except scuffing to driver seat & the bin is merely a colour change. Any suggestions in Cape Town? Tx
