Emma Show

4 November 2010 6 Comments

EMMA (European Mobile Media Association) and Demon Racing have worked their absolute magic again at the san pedro spur in Randfontein.  Master Ant Croft (head judge) and his bunch of “way too merry” men have once again strutted their stuff in the most organized fashion I have seen at any show!

Anyone who has  been to an EMMA event will testify to this. The standards are impeccable. On the SPL side, before you run your car, the judges scrutinize your vehicle to determine your class. They also inspect your entire installation: overall appearance, correct gauge cabling and fuses are used, all cabling is neat and concealed, all equipment is securely fastened, speakers are caged in, overall safety of equipment and driver is adhered to, are some of the criteria that is judged. They also spend a few minutes giving you some tips on how to improve your installation that will leave you drooling at the mouth, wanting to get your run over as soon as possible and get working on your install.

Saturday saw Demon Racing running the DB Drags and SPL with some massive numbers being put out there and EMMA running the SQ side of the day which has to be the finest event  I have ever attended.

The show ‘n shine was massively attended with an array of quality cars parked on the block. I was duly impresses with the passion displayed in the Ford Cortinas, Corsa Bakkies, a Benz stunningly done with a Carbon Fibre wrap, a MK1 Golf sprayed matt black with the entire interior done in leather (all excepting the baseball bat on the back shelf, that was made of wood, for sure!) and many, many more… oh and some girls!

I had a demonstration in Grant Rogers’ SQ MK1 Golf with a Hertz installation done by himself and was blown away by the effort and hours this fellow has put into the car with custom built pillar and door pods and the sub under the dash. The clarity of this sound was amazing!  “Enough bass?” he asked “not really” was the reply “well then that makes you a bass head!” My friend, you are right, I’m a total bass head!
