Goodwood Cricket Club fundraiser – Event coverage

27 September 2011 No Comment
Team dB and Team Autopunks have outdone themselves-AGAIN!! They always do something good for the community and this time round it was a fundraising event for the Goodwood Cricket Club. What an awesome event it was with some nice turnout of both cars and spectators! VolkEdition, CTSR, MK1 boys and German Spec are some of the car clubs that came out to show their support with Team SRD and walked away with the “Best Support Club”- award. Also supporting the event was sound clubs like BassMaster Inc., Frequent Deaf, Boyz Toyz and Audio Kings that came with a “disturbance against silence”. It was good to see the Lil’ Dragon on display after being in hibernation since the Navy Show.
Making an appearance was Chad in his green coloured 20v Conquest after being absent from the scene since December last year. Caddylicious surely had the crowd in amazement and this time not with the sound setup. He fitted a waterfall in the loading cabin with more woofers and screens-check out the pics- something totally different! My little boy enjoyed himself playing GT5 on Apollo’s massive 42 inch LED screen. This Kombi is still the crowds favourite and judges’ choice! One car that really made my day was Claxton’s turbo charged rotary Mazda. Every time I see this car it gives me goose bumps-with age comes beauty! Another car that stood out like a sore thumb was a yellow wrapped new spec Type R. All and all, I’d enjoyed the crowd and the cars that surrounded me.

Next weekend is the “Launch of Team Cape Town” out at Excelsior High in Belhar. This will be on Heritage Day or should I say, National Braai Day. Attractions include a Show & Shine, Best Car Club attendance & Car Club Presentation and unlimited dB testing for only R50-only in the Cape! For the little ones there will be jumping castles, face painting and for the hungry ones, food stalls. For the ladies there will be a Beauty Spa and a car wash & valet for your dirty rides. For the real men and women there will be a beer garden, karaoke and tattoos by Mark of Obs inc. Come out a support this fundraising event and because it’s National Braai Day, bring your meat, braai it and share it with me-lol!
Until then…God Bless!
JK
