Cape Towns Pimp Caddylicious

11 April 2011 6 Comments

This VW Caddy needs no introduction to the Cape Town car scene. It is everywhere, from show- to drag events and when he’s not at an event, he uses the streets of Cape Town as a catwalk to show off his beloved pink LDV. Caddylicious, as it is known, belongs to a happy fella named Yaseem “Charra” Mosaval and together they have conquered many “Show and Shine” events in and around Cape Town.

All of this started out about 4 years ago when this Caddy was taken from a street runner to a fully customized low-rider. “It was all run down when I bought it and I decided to add some Cape Town Pimp my Backyard Flavour to it”, claims Yaseem and with the help of some friends and God, he started to build his dream ride. The first thing that you will notice is the custom paint job that makes the Caddy stands out like a sore thumb. The original white colour was replaced with a flawless mix of pink paint that just loves the sunlight. Up close you can see the sparkling of metal flakes. This LDV is fitted with a custom front bumper, crystal angel eye headlights and some updated side view mirrors. The body is slammed 100mm closer to the tar with the help of an Eibach coil over kit and roles on set of 17 inch Ox wide wheels wrapped in some 205 x 40 Pirelli rubbers. The wheels snug’s nicely inside of the wheel arches, no scraping, and suits the LDV to the tee.

Things get a little interesting on the inside of this little cabin. Not a single thing was left untouched and this is the “wow factor” of this little LDV. The standard seats were replaced with some leather ones sourced from a Golf 4 GTi. Also fitted is a new spec dashboard, painted white with a touch of pink (of course) with no air vents. No air vents? This question brings us to sound setup in this cabin. This Caddy is equipped with the most amazing sound setup. In total it is fitted with 14 TV screens!!! There are two 4inch screens in each air vent, two 8 inch screens in the centre console, two 7inch screens in each headrest, two 7.5 inch screens in the sunvisors, one 7 inch screen between the seats and a MASSIVE 24 inch roof mount screen, all linked to a PS2. Sound and bass waves comes from the Pioneer mids in the custom door pods and 2 twelve inch Pioneer subwoofers behind the seats. The power for the system comes via a Starsound monoblock amplifier and an extra battery. All of this is controlled by a Starsound DVD front loader. The sound system sounds awesome! You have to see this to believe it and no, this guy doesn’t own a TV shop!

Performance wise, the Caddy is more of a “show” than “go” ride. An Audi gearbox is attached to the 1.8 lump and everything is nicely hidden under a pink perpex cover. Now this is one awesome ride and Yaseem surely outdone himself by building this “one of a kind”, Caddylicious. The next time you see him at a show, ask him for a demo of the Caddy’s sound system and if you want to push it, ask him to switch on ALL of the 14 TV screens.
