Motown Chev Firenza update

21 February 2012 No Comment

Some of you guys might remember not so long ago we did a build post on the Motown Chev Firenza Can Am. Well here is a bit of an update for you all.
For those that missed it, here is the start of the upgrade: motown-american-parts-chev-firenza-build
The last time we checked up on the car, she was pretty much almost complete. the Ecu still need to be wired up and the exhausts needed to have holes cut into the fenders and a couple other jobs.
So this is what has happened since then. Fuel lines were put down and connected up for the full Meth mixture, that looks like there is a nice red Aeromotive fuel pump. While taking a look underneath iv noticed that there is a cut off valve, this is so that the filter can be cleaned without having racing fuel shooting all over the show, very smart in dead! All the boost pipes have been connected up and the downpipes are now nicely situated in the side fenders and the Wastegates have been plumbed in right next to the that. Hold the bus!! You see those nice shiny red caps next to the turbos? Those belong to the 41mm Water cooled TiAL wastegates, now thats some awesome turbo bits right there!! Next up was the bonnet and then off to the Rides and Vibes show she goes to show what a V8 is capable of. The hood has been modified to compensate for the turbo housings and if you look carefully you can see that the hood was worked in such a way that the air will flow straight into the turbos mouth awesome job done by Theron. Now thats what Is what I call a bonnet with a purpose. Right, so pretty much everything is now in order and with Saldanha not being to far off they guys from Motown are looking to take the Can Am up for the Saldanha Top Ends 800m on the Easter weekend. The only thing is that the car is still making use of the 1/4 mile diff ratio, so it will be more of a demo session and a couple of test runs/tune.
Here is the link to the  Rides and Vibes car show where you can see the car basking in the sun.
