Quiet Interceptor

2 August 2012 No Comment
From the streets of Pniel we bring you one of the finest and meanest looking Quest on planet AM owned by Jetro Cijster. Previously owned by his mom, he turned this little sleeper to what it is today, one mean looking fearsome beast. At first the car was fitted with the original Toyota body kit and 16 inch TSW rims. After visiting a few shows in 2008 he decided to do some changes to the car, not only cosmetic wise but also power wise.
AutoModified: So Jet, what was done to the exterior that sets the car apart from the other TC’s out there?
Jetro Cijster: Exterior modifications include a custom front and rear bumper with original Toyota side skirts. An upper and lower boot spoiler was later fitted by LUX Bodyworks. Up front is a bad boy bonnet and smoked finished projector lights. On the rear end is a set of Toyota Twin Cam crystal tail lamps and also fitted is M3 side view mirrors. In the wheel and suspension department I’m rolling on Lenso Raiden D1RR lightweight rims lowered on an Eibach lowering kit.
AM: Nice one bud. What was done to the inside?
J.C.: The interior upgrades include a set of Toyota Twin Cam seats recovered in black leather, finished with red stitching along with the door panels. The front seats have the TRD logo embroided onto it. I also recovered the roof lining in black and some more mods are coming soon.
AM:  What lies beneath the bad boy hood?
J.C.: The car’s original 2e 1300 12 valve engine was replaced with its bigger brother, the 4e engine, 1300 16 valve Turbo. The motor is very much stock except for the Supra 7mgte injectors and the slightly bigger turbo. I’m also running a Gotech engine management. Controlling the boost is an Excell dump valve and Excell waste gate. A front mounted intercooler is also hidden behind the custom front bumper for unexpected surprises-hahaha. The 1st time I got my baby back from its 1st tune at Mace I was in shock. It made 155 kW and nearly 270 nm torque which is really strong for a 1300. The car is detuned because it’s my everyday use car.
AM:  Whoosh!! Your sound install, how cold is your ICE?
J.C.: My ice includes a Pioneer MP3 frontloader, Reference Audio amp and capacitor and 1 Pioneer 10 inch woofer. I love the sound of the turbo dumping more.
AM: Tell me, what is your favorite mod/s done to the car?
J.C.: My favorite mod is definitely the motor swap. Got to love the turbo spoooooooling up and then dumping!!
AM: Rub it in ja. So, any future plans?
J.C.: Where do I start? A new front bumper, bonnet, sunroof, coilovers, custom sound install with DVD screens and an Xbox console. Also a two tone paint interior setup and the floor need to be recovered in black.
AM: Can’t wait for that!!! Lastly, any people you would like to thank that helped you getting Pniel’s sleeper into a screamer?
Donovan Le Roux- customizing
My Dad -for giving me days off so that I can complete my car and for his support.
Lastly, AutoModified guys for giving me this opportunity!
Sweet, no probs boet, thanks a lot for sharing your car with us and yes, I feel kind of jealous after hearing your car dumping-one day is one day, don’t worry. Can’t wait for the new mods to be added.
Until then, God Bless…
