SA Hot Rod FEST – Killarney

22 September 2011 4 Comments

SA Hot Rods held a car show at Killarney and Justin Schenck from Cape Motorsport manage to capture the days action for those of you that could not make it. Some of the cars on show behind the new pit area were complete Hot Rod Porn. There was a Monster Energy Drink stand that catered for the Rugby enthusiasts and were serving cold beers all day long for the thirsty crowds!

The guys with Drift machines were allowed to get their cars sideways for the spectators during the days festivities. A couple of the guys I know were struggling at first to keep the momentum going through the top of corner 2 but manage to put on a great performance once they were used to the conditions of the track, some unfortunately didn’t make it cough cough, Derick. All in all the drift guys put on an awesome display for the crowds 10 points boys!

The SA Hot Rods car show was also held on the same day as the MSA Drags event. Justin being the diverse photographer he is managed to capture all the days activities.
Our own Marlize Hoon managed to run some awesome time, if I stand corrected she managed to get a 14:20 for the day and collected a Trophy. As always you can expect loads of smoke and some very fast drag cars at the Killarney drag events.

More pictures from the rest of the days actions at Killarney:

{Thanks Justin}

    Hi There, I have got a 351 Ford hotrod/ratrod. Is there a club in South Africa for this type of cars. I am staying in the Western Cape, but travel a lot to Motorsport events like the Wesbank serious etc. If so please advise.

    Hi Pieter. What is your interests? If you’d like to participate in drag racing for instance, then you can join the Western Province Motor Club.
