Custom Speaker Pod Build

I always wanted fibreglass speaker pods in my car and so many friends offered to do the job. Not that I don’t mind, but I always wanted to do it myself. After some extensive research I decided to build pods for the front doors and rear parcel shelf. Remember, this was my first attempt…
1. I made my own speaker rings using 8mm MDF board that was also cut to shape to form the back of the pod.
2. I attached the speaker ring to the backing piece using the 12mm dowel and hot glue. The dowels were cut to give a required angle.

Show and Shine classes/categories‏

The “Streetmod Custom Show 2006”, was the first show and shine competition that I’ve entered my car. I took honours in the “Street Class”-category that day. What a happy moment it was, not only winning, but also with the birth of my first born that same week. Well, this write up is not about winning trophies or childbirth, it’s about entering your pride and joy in a “Show and Shine” competition. Like any other competition, there are rules and regulations and most important, classes or categories in which your car …

EMMA hits Cape Town

“So Cape Town – Are You Ready for the EMMA South Africa Cape Town event?” Yes, we were, Mr. Croft, and what an event it was. This long-awaited event took place at Tiger Wheel and Tire, N1 City over the Easter weekend on Sunday, 24th April. Aside from the Sound Competition, there was a mechanical bull competition, a Jumping castle for the kiddies and some drifting from the RC Drift guys.

The event was supported …

Top Gear Festival – Kyalami Grand Prix circuit

From there we rotated around the food court and the food court and the food court, and the Speed ‘n Sound drifts, where their Lumina’s, despite being oxygen starved the entire day and going through enough tires to build a French drain large enough to service Johannesburg, gave hundreds of spectators suicide seat rides without an ounce of failure (from the cars)! Respect!

Hosting Car Shows‏

The other day I was approached by a buddy of mine. He asked me to help him planning on hosting a car show. He had no idea where to start and neither did I so I decided to do some research on this topic and this is what I came up with…
First things first…
You have to plan on where and when the show will take place, who you want to help you and what kind of entertainment you want at the show-especially if it’s an event for the whole family.
