The Rescue Rhino II Show and Sound

27 September 2012 No Comment
The Rescue Rhino II Show and Sound event was one great event, once again hosted by SSJ Concepts in conjunction with Team Autopunks. As always these guys raised the bar and was setting a good standard on how to host a fundraiser event. We were blessed with some nice summer weather and once again Cape Town petrol heads came out to show support.  The venue of choice was Goodwood Park Primary and with the show there was also a carnival. I must admit that I arrived a little later than I normally do and by the time I pitched, the show was already in full swing, with show cars parked and some pulling in. I was greeted with some fresh looking cars Cape Town has to offer and for the first time I saw a Maseratti on show.
At the JapMotion stand there was a brand new Toyota 86 on show belonging to one of their members. The car was already fitted with some yummy looking 19 inch Lenso wheels. Also drawing my attention was the Punisher Golf owned by Andrew. The front bumper on this car looks insane and was built by none other than Donovan Le Roux. With the show cars looking neat and clean I picked up that the competition nowadays is more amongst the car clubs. They go that extra mile to put up a display with all members and their rides branded. This time around the winning club was VolkEdition. I can sense a car club show challenge happening soon. What I’ve also pick up is the amount of competitors pulling in the lanes at the AutoPunks stand. Uncle Dennis also never fails to impress along with the BassMaster Inc. Crew. Car clubs also challenged one another at the Rev Off Comp and once again VolkEdition was crowned the Kings of Revv Off, taking a 1ST and 3rd place.
The Rescue Rhino team also had a demo to show the peeps what their work entails. The day ended with Dj Boy Racer wrecking the decks while Jade Namaqua was doing the Macarena. Prize giving happened just before sunset and funny enough the guys still hung around until late, cracking a joke or two. Huge thanks to those that came out to show support, competitors and spectators, making this event a huge success. This ladies and gents was just the start to many more fundraising events by SSJ Concepts and Team Autopunks.
So until the next one, God Bless…
