Tune your cars fortune – Chip Tuning

23 October 2012 5 Comments

I woke up this morning thinking to myself, in South Africa we are sometimes very limited to certain services in the modified car industry. Then I got thinking about the different tuning software applications we have access to in South Africa. We have Robbie Ferroli who was one of the 1st guys to use the Revo Software and everybody went crazy for the Revo. After that we saw a brand called GIAC apear, which catered for most of your European turbo cars. CPI then reared its head and it seems to be the newest craze down here in Cape Town.
So let’s check out the respective tuning software applications we have available to the South African modified car enthusiast.

CPI Chiptuning:
CPI was started in 2005. They are a chiptuning company that uses the most advanced technology to increase the power of the engines. The CPI software works with most modern turbo charged vehicles and some NA applications.
CPI also does custom tuning to cars that have after market modifications and if your car is non-OBD2 compliant, they can install a custom tuned EPROM chip. By reprogramming the engine in this way, we are optimizing the cars power output and responsiveness, while these changes don’t increase the cars fuel consumption during normal driving.
CPI makes changes that do not exceed the parameters of security and reliability. The balance between power, reliability and client satisfaction are our main goals.

Revo Performance Software offers the smoothest and most controllable power increase available for the modern motor vehicle. Revo Software is available for all VAG Ecu’s.
All of their development is carried out using the standard un-modified car, which has first been diagnostically tested for true factory results. As such the software we tune to, will perform impeccably when re-installed onto an un-modified car. Revo Software is the best performance software on the market, and that why we are agents.

Tuning is an art. To tune for optimal performance is to tune for a careful combination of speed, strength, and agility that varies as driver tastes vary. GIAC exists to tune cars for the way people like to drive.
GIAC is known for creating “factory smooth” performance solutions with exceptional power and reliability. With a worldwide dealer network, you can’t go wrong on customer service and aftermarket support. Results speak for themselves.
•    Fastest VW Golf 6 Gti in the world is tuned with GIAC software.
•    Fastest naturally aspirated BMW V8 M3 in the world is tuned with GIAC software.

Dreamscience Software:
Dreamscience have developed a tuning product to suit the ford owners demands and budget, from a single shot tune only file, to the new and exclusive Stratagem Ultra, colour touchscreen handset. We even have a new pc interface for those who wish to use their pc to tune their car. All three tuning methods produce the same end result, a car with much greater performance and efficiency!
DSCI and Stratagem Ultra customers will therefore have online access to new tune files when they are released by us and participating dealers.

ATM Chiptuning:
ATM-Chiptuning wants to grow into one of the most dynamic and advanced company in the chiptuning-industry. By using their own skills and experience, combined with the network of partners in the industry we hope to become the leading chiptuning company in Europe and abroad.
They try to achieve those goals by being in the heart of the business, adapt to the changes that occur. With clear communication and progressive marketing activities and feedback from our clients we want make this happen. Client satisfactory is from great importance to us to achieve our goals.

    My personal opinion

APR are the market leaders in modified German cars, worldwide their golf 6r dsg is in the 10s and the manual is in the 11.5 region, in rsa the fastest golf r is an apr, as well as the black apr g5 gti, these are basic ko4 run cars in the 11s , difference between the rest and apr is the price, many opt for the other tuners because apr is pricey, but if you do some home work, you will see that price is justified by the development and racing pedigree apr technology uses world wide.
