Western Province Rescue Rhinos Fundraiser – SSJ Event

3 July 2012 3 Comments

Another weekend with yet another wicket fundraiser event hosted by SSJ Concepts and Team Autopunks in conjunction with Western Province Rescue Rhinos team. Not even the rain was able to stop Cape Town’s petrol heads on Saturday, 30th June. The venue of choice was at the Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club. As always there was a proper show off atmosphere all the way through but this time around amongst the Car clubs. Dubstance, BM Squad, Spoilt Rush Crew, RACEist, Low & Slow, Streetdubz, Confused Crew, Young Modz and Stance R Us were some of the clubs that came out to show support. It seems like the focus nowadays is more on the club display as crews went all out. Once again, the stand out club was JapMotion Crew, who claimed “Best Club” award with their impressive display. I wonder what they will pull off next. While Shiraz Williams was playing Tarzan by hanging around on one of the cranes, The Western Cape Rescue team had a demo to show the spectators what their work entails and also what they will be getting up at the Rescue world Challenge. It was also good to see some a company linking them to the local car scene with the likes of V-Maxx, Fusion, Old School is Cool, Oppikoppie and Obs Inc Tattoo’s. Ridwaan, aka Mastersounds, brought some demo taxis and cars and Shahiem Bell gave the AM team a demo in each ride. Amazing how awesome one ten inch woofer in a taxi can sound. The Metro Rescue team also treated the ladies, and some gents, with pedicures, manicures and messages.

Accompanied by Marwaan and Blair, we conducted the show and shine and car club judging. As always, it was good to see some new cars and crews. While we worked hard judging all the fine metal on display, car clubs battled it out at the Rev Off Comp and the sound cars at the Autopunks Stand. It was also amazing to see how many cars came out just to park off. Cape Town Car scene is growing rapidly especially when you doing it in a safe environment. We hope to see just as many car crews, competitors and spectators at the next fundraiser event. Team AM can’t wait…
Until then, God Bless…
JK
